Plot Outline: An eccentric scientist teaches a student in his own manner while he looks for a way to clone his deceased wife.
This is one of my all time favorite movies. Peter O'Toole as Harry is so right for this role of the scientist who pretty much does what he wants and his colleagues love him, while his competitor hate him.
David Ogden Stiers as the primary competitor fills the role so well, and Muriel Hemingway, as the nymphomaniac who keeps trying to get Harry to pay attention to her is quite charming.
That's one side of the story however -- the *real* story is the love story of Boris (Vincent Spano) and Barbara (Virginia Madsen) which is a picture perfect Movie-of-the-Week Tear Jerker, but fits so well in the fabric of the Scientist growing his Wife theme.
