Arthur Franz's portrayal as the serial killer begging for the police to stop him is quite poignant, especially given this was written in 1952, where similar film noir and crime tales were literally and figuratively black and white presentations of characters.
Much emphasis was made on the need for early mental health care when those with psychopathic or sociopathic characteristics as a preventative to numbers of victims.
