Munich (2005)

IMDB: Munich (2005)

Eric Bana, once again, gives a great performance as Avner, the Mossad officer given a task by Golda Meir to hunt down and assassinate the Palestinian terrorists who killed the Israeli Olympic athletes taken hostage in Munich in 1972.

Aeon Flux (2005)

IMDB: Aeon Flux (2005)

Having never seen the original animated shorts, I wasn't nearly as dissapointed as fans of same, but it could have been so much better.

I did enjoy some of the technology involved, but it was hard to sympathize with the main characters.

King Kong (2005)

IMDB: King Kong (2005)

This 2nd retelling of the big ape story, while loaded with the best CG available, and although much better than the 1976 remake, still doesn't beat the original IMHO. An hour on the cutting room floor wouldn't have hurt either.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)

IMDB: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)

Although lacking the high quality CG of other summer blockbusters, this was still an enchanting movie.

Saw II (2005)

IMDB: Saw II (2005)

Although attempting to re-create the twists of the original, this sequel sadly fails to even hold the viewers attention.

Even the death gadgets were unremarkable.

A History of Violence (2005)

IMDB: A History of Violence (2005)

By far the most accessible Cronenberg film to date, A History of Violence tells the story of an average family man working at a local diner who, after he singlehandedly thwarts a violent holdup attempt, attracts the attention of gangsters who believe he is not who he pretends to be.
